چکیده

Obesity is a health problem that occurs due to the wrong lifestyle, such as lack of physical activity and diet. Accumulation adipose tissue in obesity may increases pro-inflammatory cytokines, particularly pancreatic beta cells leading type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) an alternative therapy for T2DM obese patients by losing about 40-60% body weight increasing GLP-1 secretion which stimulates increased insulin secretion. However, SG procedure cannot reduce cytokines promote damaged cells. Pancreatic omentoplasty can suppress regeneration The goal this study investigate HOMA-IR rats with who underwent procedures. An experimental using pre post-test control group design were done study. Eighteen Diabetes Mellitus divided into 3 groups: K1 (SG), K2 (SG + Omentoplasty), K3 (control). Blood glucose level measured glucoDR Glucometer Bio-sensor kit ELISA, respectively before 10 days after procedure. measurement was calculated based on blood level. A significant decrease fasting gluocese levels shown all treatment groups day 10th. There increase Highest K2. Furthermore, From study, we conclude Pancreas Omentoplasty significantly value T2DM.

Impact of Sleeve Gastrectomy on Weight Loss, Glucose Homeostasis, and Comorbidities in Severely Obese Type 2 Diabetic Subjects

This study was undertaken to assess medium-term effects of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) on body weight and glucose homeostasis in severely obese type 2 diabetic (T2DM) subjects. Twenty-five obese T2DM subjects (10 M/15 F, age 45 ± 9 years, BMI 48 ± 8 kg/m(2), M ± SD) underwent evaluation of anthropometric/clinical parameters and glucose homeostasis before, 3 and 9-15 months after LSG. ...

Clinical efficacy of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy vs laparoscopic gastric bypass in obese type 2 diabetic patients: a retrospective comparison.

BACKGROUND Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG) are performed in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The aim of this study is to evaluate retrospectively the clinical efficacy of RYGB and SG in two groups of obese T2DM patients. METHODS From the hospital database, we extracted the clinical records of 31 obese T2DM patients, of whom 15 (7 F/8 M) ha...

GLP-1 and glucose tolerance after sleeve gastrectomy in morbidly obese subjects with type 2 diabetes.

Although GLP-1 has been suggested as a major factor for the marked improvement of glucose tolerance commonly seen after sleeve gastrectomy (SG), several observations challenge this hypothesis. To better understand the role of GLP-1 in the remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) long term after SG in humans, we conducted two separate cross-sectional studies: 1) the GLP-1 response to a stand...

Diabetic Complications in Obese Type 2 Diabetic Rat Models

We overviewed the pathophysiological features of diabetes and its complications in obese type 2 diabetic rat models: Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima fatty (OLETF) rat, Wistar fatty rat, Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rat and Spontaneously diabetic Torii (SDT) fatty rat. Pancreatic changes with progression of diabetes were classified into early changes, such as islet hypertrophy and degranulation of β ...

Short-term effects of sleeve gastrectomy on type 2 diabetes mellitus in severely obese subjects.

BACKGROUND Data on the effectiveness of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) in improving or resolving type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are scarce. METHODS A 4-month prospective study was conducted on the changes in glucose homeostasis in 35 severely obese T2DM subjects undergoing laparoscopic SG (LSG) and 50 subjects undergoing laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGBP), matched for DM duration, type ...
